Learning to Drive
New Drivers
In order to start taking lessons you must be 17 years or over and hold a provisional driving licence.
Theory Test And Hazard Perception
You will need to pass both the Theory and HP test at the same time, before you can apply for your practical driving test. The Theory part of the exam is to test your knowledge and understanding of various aspects of driving. So, being prepared is key to success. Hazard Perception tests your ability to identify both potential and developing hazards by a series of computer clips.
Practical Driving Test
“Show me, tell me” checks your understanding of basic car maintenance and how to identify that the vehicle controls are working correctly. The practical part of the test will assess your ability to drive to the required standard sought by the DSA.
Advice And Support To Help You Prepare
I will give you help and advice on how to structure your revision for the Theory and HP test. During your lesson plan, I will also cover the basics of general car maintenance. This will mean you are well prepared for the test and how to look after you own car once you have passed! I will also give you a mock test and a driving examiner test sheet to show any faults that we will work on before the real test!
Refresher Training
If you have already passed your driving test and hold a full licence, I can offer refresher training. This will be tailored to suit your own individual requirements.

The Driving Instructor
I am a fully qualified instructor who is patient, friendly and very supportive.
I hold a *green ADI badge, which only fully qualified instructors carry.
I offer a structured lesson plan to ensure pupils receive the correct level of training for every stage. The lessons are tailored to suit each individual, to ensure they are both effective and enjoyable. My aim is to provide high quality driving tuition, in a safe and pleasant training environment.
*Some driving schools have trainee instructors, which you can identify by the pink badge. This means they have not yet passed the qualifying exam required by the DSA.

Intensive Driving Courses

Fast Track Course
This course is suitable for beginners with little or no previous experience.
This is designed to offer 40 hours tuition and cover the complete syllabus for learning to drive and reaching suitable driving test standard in a short period of time. It also gives you enough time to build up your confidence. Hours can be arranged to suit, however we would recommend allowing a minimum of 6 - 10 weeks to prepare for your driving test. Cost £680.
5 Day Course
This course is suitable for a learner driver of an intermediate standard.
This course runs Monday - Friday. Each day, the instructor meets you at your home or requested place of collection. Hours are arranged at 4 hours per day over 5 days, totalling 20 hours of tuition. Daily starting times can be arranged to suit. Cost £340.
10 Day Course
This course is recommended for learners of limited or basic experience.
This is normally 3 hours tuition per day totalling 30 hours and allows you more time to absorb the information. Cost £510.
Please note:
- These prices are for tuition only and your test fees are extra.
- Deposit is non refundable if you cancel the course without 10 working days notice.
- We cannot be held responsible for any driving test that is cancelled by the DSA.
- If the professional opinion of your instructor advises that your driving is below the standard required, we can decline the use of the car for the driving test. This could result in you losing your driving test fee (this rarely occurs but you should be aware of this).

Pass Plus Courses
The Pass Plus Scheme is backed by Car Insurance companies, Central Government and the Driving Standards Agency. It is designed to help newly qualified drivers gain more experience and become better drivers and may entitle you to discount on your car insurance.
Pass Plus is a course of lessons designed to enable you to gain more experience behind the wheel of your car and, whilst there is no test at the end of it, you will receive a certificate to show you have successfully completed the course.
The Pass Plus scheme consists of six modules, each concentrating on a particular aspect of driving:
- In Town
- In all weather
- Out of town
- At night
- On dual carriageways
- On motorways
